Fair Usage Policy

Policy Overview

To ensure the sustainability and quality of our network for all clients, MTN (as the underlying network provider) may implement traffic shaping based on network congestion levels, particularly during peak hours (typically between 18:00 and 23:00). Network shaping may affect download and upload speeds, latency, or prioritisation of certain traffic types such as video streaming, file sharing and P2P traffic. All maximum speeds stated (e.g. up to 20Mbps) represent theoretical maximums achievable under optimal network conditions; the service is a best-effort offering.

Acceptable Usage Thresholds

  • 20Mbps — Monthly threshold of 100GB. Beyond this, speed is limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
  • 50Mbps — Monthly threshold of 150GB. Beyond this, speed is limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
  • 100Mbps — Monthly threshold of 1TB. Speed is limited to 20Mbps after 250GB, 10Mbps after 500GB, and 1Mbps after 1TB for the remainder of the month.

Unacceptable Usage

Activities that are strictly prohibited include: operating servers for commercial purposes, automated cryptocurrency mining, running mass mailing services, and any activity that constitutes abuse of network resources.

Important Note

Our packages are not arbitrarily throttled. Unlike other providers, we do not slow your connection unless thresholds above are reached. If we detect extreme abnormal usage that affects network performance for other users (typically consistently exceeding 2TB/month), we may contact you to discuss your usage patterns.

Network Management

During peak congestion times (typically 6–10 PM), minimal network management may be applied to ensure all users have a usable connection. This rarely affects speeds by more than 10% and does not apply to 100Mbps plan users.
